Following our ongoing work with Kolex on DC Digital Collectible packs, we were invited to help shape another major project — this time for the exciting new football venture, Kings League.
Founded in 2022 by former Barcelona and Spain defender Gerard Piqué, Kings League is a fast-paced, seven-a-side football tournament designed to make the game more entertaining and digitally engaging for a younger audience.
Magictorch was brought on to design and animate a new digital pack (this time in the form of a loot box) across multiple tiers: Welcome, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Rewards. Each version needed a distinct look while staying within a consistent visual framework.
To keep the project on time and within budget, we developed a modular workflow that allowed for quick and flexible adjustments to colour and design across each pack iteration.
Collectors see these animations when opening their digital Kings League loot boxes to reveal the collectibles inside. Each box transforms and disassembles, unveiling a glowing interior in a not-so-subtle nod to the iconic briefcase in Pulp Fiction. A dynamic, kinetic camera sweeps around the box before diving inside, heightening the sense of drama and discovery.
